Single storey block and site development

A long single storey block of repeated bays, built out along one edge of the plot and finished in white with a plinth band, while the yard in front of it is graded and levelled.

Repetition is the whole point of a building like this. One bay is set out, checked and agreed, and every bay after it is built to the same marks, which is what keeps door heights, sill levels and conduit drops consistent down a two hundred foot elevation. The services follow the same logic: one circuit arrangement per bay, one board serving a run of them, so a fault is traced to a bay rather than to a building.

Earthworks and levelling run alongside, so the surface water has somewhere to go before the block is handed over.
