Railway and infrastructure
A station building built alongside a live running line, structure through to finishes.
A two storey station building standing directly alongside the running lines, finished in white with banded string courses, with a covered walkway to the platform edge.
Working beside a live track changes how the job is run rather than how it is built. Material cannot be stacked where it can foul the line, lifts and pours are taken in the windows the railway allows, and every man on the site has to be accounted for before and after a movement. The building itself is an ordinary framed structure. The discipline around it is not.
Electrical work on a station building runs to platform lighting, the announcement and display supply, and a distribution board arrangement that keeps public areas live when the offices are locked.
On site
Taken by our own team on site, not staged.
